new clutch?
new clutch? well i've been in the hunt for a new clutch for a while considering im still running my stocker with all my mods. (not too good anymore) i was wondering how do i actually know that it is time for a new clutch. im still kinda new to manual transmissions. the clutch engages near the top of the pedal when it is released, but im just not sure how to tell how long i have left on it. im trying to save up my $$ to get my spec stage 3 but untill i have the $800 in gonna need to get it installed i have to run on my damn stock one. anyone?? also do u guys think that $800 would be a good price for the clutch and install??
Dude for one I think your clutch is shot. Once it starts engaging all the way at the top its almost gone. Go out and take it for a run on the freeway or something. Wind 3 gear to like 5k and power shift it. If the clutch is gone it will slip at that RPM (take long to engage).
Two... i would go with a Ram Powergrip. I had a SPEC 3 and it lasted for 12k or so. I didn't see in your sig if you had the drill mod or anything.
Three... can't you do the job yourself. I just did mine and it wasn't that hard at all. All you need to do is borrow a trans jack to make it easy. But other than that....if you can get it for $800.00 parts included than thats pretty good I guess.
