are ls1 and lt1 t56 different????

What is the difference in the lt1- t56 vs. ls1-t56 other than the bell housing?
if you guys know, please let me know. I want to know if I can use one...

I beleive the input shaft is also different. I would love to figure out a way to use the one I have behind a LS1

I will consider trading. I have a complete setup for a LT1, and I want to swap my auto out. I had originally planned on putting the trans I have behind a BBC for my El Camino. But, plans are ever changing. How much changed from LT1 years to LS1? Can I use the pedals and crossmember?

Could you PM how much cash difference? How much can I use of the parts I already have? I know I will at least need new hydraulics, clutch, flywheel, etc. But what about the pedals and crossmember?
