Default Slave Cylinder Problems

currently my car has this issue where if i take it off the line right when i hit the clutch and shift to 2nd the clutch pedal stays stuck to the floor. and at times when i go to throw it into 3rd it will grind. a mechanic told me its probably my slave cylinder. i was wondering when i do go get it changed if thats the problem are their any other things on the transmission that i should get changed? i was trying to save my money so i can get a Spec 3 clutch installed but just wondering if theres anything else? thanks

Since you have to pull the trans to fix the slave, I'd go ahead and do the clutch at the same time. A new clutch, pressure plate, flywheel (or resurfaced one), pilot bearing and a new slave (upgraded 2001 or newer version) should cure your troubles. That presumes your grinding going into 3rd is related to the pedal sticking to the floor. The Spec 3 kits come with pilot and throwout bearings. I'd recommend the Spec 3F too if you're going with Spec (see my post today).

Mine was the same way after about 8 or 9 nights at the track. I got a spec 3, New billet steel flywheel , master & slave. Cost me about 850 in parts & a transmission buddy put it in for 200. no worries now, But after 1 yr now, the peddle has felt funny once or twice?????
