Still rattlin'
Still rattlin' I rebuilt my tranny over the winter. Everything works great but I stll hear rattling from the shifter area at highway speeds. I was hoping the rebuild would have fixed that. I put in the standard kit with synchros, slider keys, etc.
Do I need complete new synchro assemblies??
All of the bearings looked great. There was not much I found that was worn much at all?
I have 115,000 miles on it now.
I think the main reason I tore into it( occasional grinding into third) would have been fixed by the drill mod.
I am not going to monkey with it until next winter, if I do at all.
Any thoughts are appreciated!!!

yeah, i have a short shifter and short stick, and i hear rattling sounds from it. i thought it was something wrong with the tranny, so i dropped it off at a tranny shop, and they said it seemed fine. some friends of mine have said that my idler gear (?) is going out. Also at around 60 in 5th and 6th gear there is this high pitched noise that comes from the rear. it only goes when i press on the gas, and goes away around 70 in 6th. Any one have any idea to that problem?
