Default Weird Problem...

Just put in a FM13 cam on Wed...finally was able to get on it yesturday and today, and something is going weird with my clutch. Before the cam install, the clutch engaged near the top of the pedal during normal driving and at WOT and heavy acceleration.

I dont know if this is a coincidance or not, but now during heavy acceleration, the clutch engagement position is at the bottom of the pedal travel. It's normal during regular driving, but does this now at WOT.

Stock clutch AFAIK, 2001 TA, mods are in sig.

I pulled the cap off the reservoir today and the fluid is kind of charcoal color....I know it's suppose to be a yellow/clear color (DOT 3). Can the fluid cause this? Any other thoughts?

Can the LS1 hydraulics be bled easily? Or fluid exchange?

My advise to you is flush the fluid. Get a mighty vac & flush the fluid out, these make it a fast painless procedure.
I watch my fluid & change it just when it starts to darken, usually after a visit to the dragstrip . It has cured many problems for me, now I dont let it get dirty again.

Isnt it essentially a vacuum pump or vacuum brake bleeder? I have a Craftsman vacuum pump/brake bleed kit that has a hand held vacuum pump, and little bottle, some adaptors, tubes, etc. ...will this work???

Also, I was under the car today and felt around for that bleeder screw. It's an 11mm right? What do you use to loosen it? 1/4" ratchet with a shallow socket??

sounds like your all set. That pump will work. I use a shallow socket rachet & it works fine. Just keep the reservoir filled as you bleed.
