Default Methods for flushing/bleeding the clutch??? Please help!

I have spent hours reading about bleeding/flushing the system..and cant seem to find what im looking for. I have read about using the mityvac, gravity bleeding, and conventional bleeding. I cant seem to determine which one works the best.

I have a craftsman vacuum pump similar to the mityvac with all of the accessories with it. How EXACTLY is this hooked up and used to bleed the system? Do you use the bleeder valve when using the mityvac? Do you pump the pedal at all? Where are the hoses hooked up?

Which method works the best? MityVac? Gravity? Conventional?

The reason I ask is because my pedal engagement gets very close to the floor at WOT or heavy acceleration. The fluid was black when I pulled the cap off so I assume I need a flush and bleed.

Please help me as I am racing on saturday and I need this fixed. TIA!

I just did a gravity bleed to get the old nasty looking fluid out. I think mine is working fine and the pedal feels better. It was a little bit mushy before the bleed.

I just fill the resevoir and get under it and let it run out for a few seconds ,then fill back up and do this several times to gravity bleed it . I have a great peddle feel and my car shifts like butter.
