$79 for a damn throw out bearing...WTF?? Does anybody know where to find these for less? If not..is it nessasary to change this during a clutch install?

Didn't your clutch come with one? If not, it is not utterly necessary to swap it out, but highly recommended. Where are you seeing them for $79?

Yeah, the throw-out bearings are pretty damn expensive. I just bought a whole new slave when I did my clutch...

They are definitely recommended to be replaced, especially if you have some abuse on it. The last thing you want to do is pull the thing all the way apart again just because this one little part failed. Kinda like replacing the pilot bearing...

i got mine from the local dealer for less then $20.00, $79.00 is insane.

Everytime a clutch is replaced the throwout bearing should be replaced.

80 is not much considering what you spend to put in a good clutch/flywheel and new hydraulics, just bite the bullet and do it right. I spent 1150 on parts alone for my clutch swap.

Buy a new slave...Might as well do it while the tranny is out, they are around 150 bucks...

i got a updated slave and t/o bearing assembly from advanced auto parts for 69 bucks

may want to look inot that

Make sure the slave assembly is GM part number 6288, that is the correct updated slave

I bought a new slave and when I purchased my clutch it also came with a new throwout bearing...Im sure ill be selling the new one if anyone is interested shoot me a PM with how much you willing to pay...The 6288 part # im refering to is the complete slave unit...

15046288 is what you need slave cylinder and t/out bearing package (comes toghether) list is 150ish
