Can you OVERthrow??
Can you OVERthrow?? Just curious if you can overthrow the slave/throwout bearing? I have the McLeod master and it's adjusted out pretty far (per Red's instructions) and it scares me now with the new slave that I may have too much throw and don't want to blow out the slave or anything, my old one was DESTROYED!! It has SOLID pressure on the clutch pedal, but mine is way high, easily over the brake pedal height.

I dont see how. The slave will only go out so far and stop (like the way it comes off the car) When its is the car, its compressed. I have my McLeod master adjusted per their instructions (adjust it so the clutch pedal rests on the factory stop under the dash).
I just wonder because if the slave stops, but you have more clutch pedal throw left and it goes to the floor, will it blow the slave out/break it type of deal? My old slave was destroyed, not sure why, but it literally blew off the throwout bearing when I went to remove it from the tranny, I just touched it and it shot it off and the spring went flying. So I don't know if I was overthrowing it with the clutch pedal having so much throw or not??
I love the feel, it completely solid right now, but just very leary of pushing the pedal all the way to the floor and overextending the slave cylinder. My street twin engages at the very top of the clutch pedal release area, so I just worry too much about this **** is all

The engaugement of my Spec is beyond the top of the pedal (slipping) and I still push the pedal all the way in.
Interesting question though. If I had one infront of me, I could answer better.
