installed new clutch Installed a new RAM clutch over the last couple of nights. This was my first clutch install on an LS1. Everything went well, had trouble getting the bell housing to release from the engine, I used a prybar and rubber mallet to get it off. I re-used the stock flywheel, just had it resurfaced. The machine shop showed me that the stock flywheel was tapered toward the center. He said this was not from wear but from factory machining. Interesting. I used a shim I bought from RAM between the tranny & the slave cylinder. The clutch engages about 3" from the floor which I am happy with. The clutch pedal is definately stiffer. I did the drill mod prior to installing the clutch. Here are some pics.

HAHAHA Yeah i was ready for some serious work when i was ready to stab mine back in after a new clutch. Lift + tranny jack = 2 min stab! WOW i was so damn happy. Now that im having probs getting it into gear im thinking i need a shim too. Even though i bought a new Fidanza flywheel.
