Question Bullet Proofing T56

What or where do I go to get the parts to make this tranny better than it is. The viper has a T56 and they don't lunch out. Mine has been rebuilt twice. There has got to be a 'kit' somewhere to make this thing BULLET PROOF. Thanks.

Have someone rebuild the tranny that knows what they are doing. The Tremec is a great tranny if the tolerances are followed to a "T". Rockland Standard Gear rebuilt mine and it has been flawless so far. I beat the **** out of it every chance I get. I was refered to them by a Tremec rep from the Super Chevy Show. They said it is the tolerances that make these trannys last. They did upgrade many parts, but they were only in the syncros and blocker rings. Other than that, mosty stock back in. They also sent me there own Synthetic fluid for it.

My tranny has shoter throws now, its tight when going in gear, and hammering in it doesn't seen to affect it at all. A total different tranny than what it was when it was new from the factory.

Just my .o2.

I meant is there a update kit. Like brass blocking rings instead of ceramic crap. I have the updated steel fork.

The main thing to change is the slider keys. G-force transmissions can hook you up with billet slider keys and carbon blocker rings and so on. The slider keys break and cause a chain reaction.

rockland also rebuilt mine and like the other guy said it shifts flawless
i used to miss a gear from time to time when my trans started to eat itself but this trans is rock solid. everything is stock except for the blockers and the syncros. its all in the setup that make a trans last. all trannies are blueprinted and shimed when they are rebuilt at rockland. lucky for me i only live an hour away and did not have to ship mine. they are about an hour away from nyc

I don't want carbon blocking rings. That's what keeps breaking. I want brass or what is better. Any help would be great. Thanks for the replies so far.

Are you actually breaking the blocker rings or are they just wearing out?

I would call D&D and G-Force to see if there other material available.

breaking, chipping. I have 29,000 miles on it and I never 'dump' the clutch. I learned how to drive farm equip @ 9 yrs old. I'm now 44. I raced a lot of cars. I think I know how to shift. I learn racing on the m-21 and m-22 4 speeds in the old Camaros and Chevelles I have never had trannies go out on me like this one. It's getting old and costly. I will call those places, get the parts and do this myself. (Master Auto Tech.) The dealer can't get it right. But it was under warrenty. Now it's not.

You can get a viper output/input shaft conversion. But it doesn't look like that is your problem.

Zombie...make sure you're getting a good clutch release. You may need a better MC. A clutch that is not releasing fully can wreck synchros....

That's what I'm talking about. Build it right to handle power. Is there a 'kit'? Or peice it together? All good suggestions from everyone. Thank you. Now we're gettin somewhere. On the viper conversion, is clutch splines differant? And if so, I would imagine a great clutch set up? Thanks all. Keep it coming. =)

No. It's a Viper output shaft. No Viper input shaft that I'm aware of for our cars. Viper output shaft is larger in diameter and has more splines. The trans company you choose will give you a new yoke. From what I've seen it looks like you may have to get your DS shortened a little bit. The Viper output shaft looks a little longer.

G-force will sell you all the parts separte. They don't make a kit so you have to peice it together
