Trans Problem- something loose pasted from another board.
"new clutch when I got the car. Now the pedal is really soft and goes 1/2 way down with just resting my foot on it. I have to push it to the floor for the car to shift, and when I first got it, there was barely any play at all.
Seems hard to get in reverse now. No trans leak that I've noticed and I've checked for spots numerous times. Any ideas here?
New clutch? 3500 miles on it"
"see as I have nothing here to look under the car, I was able to slide my arm under it and reach the trans. Well, between the oil pan and the trans is this plate that is probably 2mm thick and it's quite loose and there is oil around it. It's loose enough that I can slide my finger between it and the trans.
think this could be the problem, and what is it?"
