Default Do I need a slave, master or both?

Simply, my clutch doesn't disengage when shifting fast and sticks to the floor after I romp on it. 2002 with 32k miles on stock clutch, so thats being replaced...but what else needs to be replaced along with it to fix the above? I'm tired of limping my hot rod around town when I should be terrorizing my fellow motorists.

you must install a new throwout bearing when doing a clutch job, the throwout bearing comes on the slave cyl, so you may as well replace the slave also.
it is usually suggested that you replace the slave, because if you have problems with it later it will be a pain to drop the tranny just for the slave.

if you are unable to replace the master when you're doing the clutch job thats OK, it is not too hard to install a new one later on.

ROTFLMAO I feel the same way! My SLP Loudmouth and gutted cats truely can strike terror!


So a new slave cylinder will come with a throw out bearing? I was thinking about doing the LS6 clutch kit from MTI and a new GM slave. I was wondering if I would need to get a throw out bearing separately?

so the pedal sticking and clutch not disengaging isnt related to the master, just the slave?

IIRC, a sticking clutch can be cured with the "drill mod."

You have a 2002 so there is no upgrade for your slave. Replacing a slave is tough work, not worth it IMO. I'd try the drill mod to start.
