I NEED help BADLY i have a 98 transam 60,000 miles on it. 4th gear started grinding a while ago, then 3rd, now it wont go into either gear at all and it is super freakin hard to shift into any other gear. i dunno wtf is up with it i am soo pissed off i thought these trannys were supposed hold up. all my car has is a lid and a catback. it also has a spec stage 1 clutch which i got when i had the friggin engine replaced cause it blew the frig up. the other day the clutch pedal went to the floor and i pulled it back up. but before EVERYTHING (the engine, clutch and pedal prob) i was having trouble with 3rd and 4th grinding and ****. i need help
Well sounds like you have hydraulic problems. It is likely gonna need a clutch master & a slave if it hasn't been done.
Then to top that off you where needing a trans overhaul w/ it was grinding into 3/4.
I know it sucks but thats the way it goes. Been there.
These trans's will hold up w/a quality rebuild/upgrade. You also have to insure the hydraulics are working correctly so normal shifting does not cause undue wear.
