Default Shifting

Hey I heard somewhere about people starting off in 2nd gear.... Is this a good idea? what are the pros and cons? also how exactly do you powershift? i know its when you shift while holdin down the gas but i'm kinda nervous bout doin it.

Power shifting tears **** up. I just got out the habbit of not doing it anymore and it sux. Yes the car moves faster, but I cant afford for anything to break on me either. Basicly hold the gas down and get it into the next gear as fast as you can without hitting the revlimiter or getting off the clutch to early or to soon.

As for the 2nd gear thing, it will only slow you down.

powershifting on a stock tranny is not a good idea, i do it all the time with my proshifted tranny but my gears are special cut and made for that. i also start of in 2nd alot but i have a 4.56 rear end ratio so its almost like 1st gear on a stock car, lol.
