Default Dropping the transmission

If I have a true dual x-pipe set-up and I need to drop my transmission do I need to drop my whole exhuast?

My exhuast is welded to my headers but the x-pipe is behind the transmission, so can the transmission be disconnected from the driveshaft and dropped or does the driveshaft have to come down as well.

I'm taking my car to have the clutch put in tomorrow and I just thought about this. So I need the answer ASAP. Thanks

Luke

As long as the pipes come together behind the transmission and don't cause any obstruction, you can just drop the trans and leave the exhaust in place. Just unbolt your driveshaft from the rear end, drop it down and slide it out of the transmission, then start having fun trying to get to all of your trans bolts.
