Default Settle this for once and for all.

I'm down to the wire and I've got to order a clutch now so I can install it next weekend (only saturday off!).

I have read so many topics on forums about what clutch and am still so confused.

I have an 00 Z28 that is primarily my daily driver, but I take it to the track every thursday. I need a clutch that will withstand a good beating.

I was thinking about a spec 3 - but both my bf and another friend of mine who have it say it is kind of hit or miss with launching - either they spin bad, or bog. However I'm afraid a spec 2 wouldn't be enough - anyone racing on a spec 2?

As far as the Rams go - what's comparable to a spec 2 and 3? Those are really the only two brands I am looking at since they are affordable. Anyone have centerforce??

I am making maybe 350 hp at best, plan on adding a cam soon and from there keep modding, but it's not like I plan to hit 500hp overnight....

Spec stage 3 here, h/c package, all the bolt ons, plus spray and it holds good no problems at all.

On my 2nd Spec 3, also rubbin gainst a Fidanza alum flywheel. If installed and broken in correctly (5-10 full heat cycles, then a final seat) it will be chatter free and hold up very well. I think for every miss, there's at least 100 hits Just cuz one guy or another had a bad experience, doesn't count out all of us that have never had a single problem.

I welded my spec 3 to the flywheel after 6k miles during a launch at the track. Was working well up to that point. Grabbed great, chattered a little bit.

I'm really liking this Aussie clutch right now. Most streetable high performance clutch I've ever driven. No chatter, stock feel, doesn't mind being slipped. Went racing today for the first time on it since install, beat the hell out of it for 4 passes, dumped it from 5-5500, and didn't slip at all. Gets my vote.

I had a spec 3 and it only saw 3 tack passes and was done after 7k. It chattered like hell and just didnt feel good overall. I love my Ram Powergrip HD. I went with this and the billet flywheel.. About 650 from TSP.

SPEC Stage 3F (Iron Disc) w/ billet steel flywheel. Drives like stock, but hooks great. No problems yet & lots of track time & 300+ miles a week daily driven.

I had a spec 3i that after 9 track passes and 6,000 daily driven miles stripped all the way down to the rivets on the clutch. I was one of the unlucky ones. I talked to spec and they weren't too keen on replacing the puck so i went ahead and got an RPS that i am absolutely in love with. Probably out of your budget tho.

If only 350 whp i would suggest staying away from teh 3i. might be a little rough for daily driving from my experience.
