Default Mallett Short Throw Shifter

Hello:

I have the chance to get a Mallett short throw shifter for $150 - $175. I have a Z06 with a stock shifter. My question is if anyone has shifter and how hard is it to install. Is it worth getting it? Also, any problems with buying a used shifter or anything I should look for?

Thank you in advance.

spring tension, other than that there should be no problems with a used shifter. I have no experience with the mallett shifter though.
