Default rookie clutch ?'s

Can someone explain Why Im being told to buy the Mcleod Master cylinder, with whatever clutch i decide to go with? Im not sure I understand what will happen if I do not have it. Im running a heads cam and intake Camaro, and am in dire need of a new clutch. Im just starting my research and have been bombarded with the " this clutch is great, this clutch sucks statements. I have been told that the key to this clutching is the Master cylinder. My camaro in a 98. Thanks for thehelp

The Mcleod master is adjustable, most of the aftermarket pressure plates are not self adjusting as the stock pressure plate is, so as it wears, or seats you will have to readjust it, and that can be done in a few ways, one being using shims, and another (the easiest becuase you don't have to drop the trans again) is by using an adjustable master cylinder. Thus the reason everyone is saying use the Mcleod!
Hope this helps!

With the stock clutch how do you know, or for that matter, does the dealer know when to adjust it?
I ask because my clutch is starting to go and when i get the aftermarket one which the dealer wont fix(i guess) how will i know by what signs will i know to get it adjusted...??? With the Mcleod(sp) if you arent experienced enough to pull your tranny how would you do it take it in?

On the stock pressure plate, there is no adjustment to be done, it is self adjusting. As for adjusting the Mcleod once it is in, all you have to do is pop the clip off of the clutch pedal and turn the rod going to the master left or right to adjust the pedal in or out. There's no big trick to it. As for how hard it is to install, you need 2 people on in the car and one under the hood to do it, but other than that it is an exact replacement as far as how to put it in, nothing too hard, just takes plenty of time.
