Clutch headache
Ok I just replaced my clutch with a stage 2 and left the stock hydraulics in and everything worked great till one day it got harder to go into gears and eventually the clutch wouldn't disengage. So we replaced the slave and now it will go into gear but its very tough and when you press the clutch to the floor the tires still sping on the jack stands. We tried bleeding the hydraulics once and it got a little better. Is this a master cylinder issue or air in the hydraulic system? Any input is appreciated.

Could it be this spec shim for the slave? I didn't use it on my stock system and it worked fine. I dont wanna have to tear the whole car apart to find out the shim didnt matter lol I guess we will try bleeding it more.

If you didn't use the shim, that could be one of your problems. That shim helps dissingage the clutch more. Also you could still have air in the hydrualic system . You might want to try and bleed the system first before you pull the trans out. Help this helps.

im having similar problems with my spec 3. i swapped the slave cylinder but i didn't use the shims. it was fine for about 6 months. then the car wouldn't go into gear. i replaced the master and the slave and same prob. then i took it apart and the clutch disk wasn't broken or looked bad. i bled the damn thing so much i know its not that. could it be the shims?? any advice would help. im lost!!

Had the exact same problem with my 1st stage II. Ended sending it back to the person I bought it from. Had a bent disc, replaced whole unit and worked great. I think it was damaged durring shipping. Plastic shrink wrap had failed and let the disc slide around under the PP, and damaged it enough that it caused this same problem. But than again it might have been bad from the get go. I would try and send it back. Found all this out after I to left the shim out. And had to put it in which did not help. Also ended up pulling it once more to swap out the slave and then master which did not help. LIke I said new unit took care of it.

Hey guys transam1998 was right I just added one more shim to the one I had already and it worked. It's sad I spoke to mechanics, service techs and f body performance shops and noone could recommend that.
