Hard to Shift
Hard to Shift I recently installed a Ram Power Grip with a new slave from a local Oreilly's. It's been in for about 3000 miles now. Starting last week it has been noticebly harder to get into gear, and I when I take off in 1st I hear and feel a scraping noise which sounds like it is coming from within the bellhousing. Also somestimes the clutch will engage will I have it pushed in at a standstill. I am forced to granny shift and double clutch so I don't have to put to much muscle into shifting it.
I checked the hydrualic fluid and no change in level, but the fluid is black.
Does the color matter?
I hope it is not the slave because I really don't want to drop the tranny again during the semester. But if it is...
Is it ok to use OEM slave cylinders with aftermarket clutchs or do I need a more durable aftermarket slave?
The slave I bought was from O' Reilly's and I can get another one for free but if I have to change a slave out every 3000 miles than I just buy a better brand. If so does anybody know of any good slaves to buy and from where?
