Default What is the best clutch??

I've heard Cartek and Ram. Are those the best? I may be getting one soon, my stocker is starting to wear.

I have always had great success with Mcleod clutches in the LS1. The single disk setup w/ the upgraded kevlar/organic disk is a GREAT street/strip clutch.

When purchasing any aftermarket (or even stock '02 clutch), make sure you buy a Mcleod adjustable master cylinder. If you car is '98-'00, I would replace the slave cylinder with the GM '01 version.

I have the Ram VDS and its absolutely awesome. I upgraded my slave, but Im still running my stock master. For now anyway. ITs holding fine to the 538rwhp/709rwtq nitrous passes

I disagree. Till my car gets to boost I am launching like a STOCK ls1. My stock clutch...and its replacement..a z06 pp with metallic disc would not even hold nittos with a 3500-4000 launch. Ram HOLDs but to me it feels like stock. Mine has a tick of chatter. I didnt break it in for 500 miles. I drove to the track and broke it in with some 5500 rpm dumps. I LOVE the RAM setup!!

McLeod single disk(Kevlar) Put 15k miles on one disk and it looked like it had plenty more to go. All I do is beat on the clutch too..ask anyone. From 6400rpm launches on 28's and having it still bog it holds so hard to multiple(300+++)6000rpm launches on 26 inch slicks with 1.5-1.6 60 foot times...it's impressed me thats for sure and well worth the $$$.

For big hp cars those mentioned are the thing you need . If it is a every day car with just bolt ons,the Z06 or [updated]GM is hard to beat!

Though it is still a relatively new install, I am definitely liking this McLeod twin-disk clutch. When it grabs, there ain't no slipping. I have been very surprised at how driveable it is on the street, though. Not too hard in stop and go traffic.
