Default Issues: Master cylinder(mcleod)

Alright, heres the deal, t-56 tranny, 01+ slave, mcleod adjustable master, thats the setup with a spec 3 clutch and stock pressure plate, anyways, recently after going to the track, my clutch pedal has been acting weird, it ranges from 1" freeplay, to 3" freeplay, to 4.5" freeplay(these are estimated figures but i think they're pretty close), in these stages the clutch goes from fully engaged to fully disengaged, also note that my dads friend(mechanic) diagnosed it as a faulty master cylinder, and he put some lube around the shaft of the master cylinder and it worked normal for about a week, then went back to how it was, i've thought about putting some lithium grease around it and seeing if that helps, anyways, any other diagnosis' from people? also i did do the drill mod while installing it(like it said in instructions from mcleod).

Do a search here for McLeod master rebuild's.
You need to do this w/ yours. Doesnt matter if it is new, they just do this. It will be much improved.
