question on hydrolics

Default question on hydrolics

Ok I recently checked the clutch fluid and it was black so my friend told me that since it was black that i needed to replace slave and master bc as soon as i replace the fluid it will go black after only a hundred miles is this true.thanks

He's 1/2 right. It will turn black again shortly but you don't need to replace the slave and master because of it. There is such a small quanity of fluid in the system and it doesn't take much to heat it up or contaminate it.

i didnt think so but replacing the fluid will help the shifts correct bc it has a hard time gettin into 3rd and i have been readin that the fluid needs to be changed

If you haven't done it, you might as well do the drill mod since you'll be replacing the fluid anyway. Also, go get a mityvac ($35 or so but oh so helpful) to remove the air from the system.
