i think all the issues were a bad set of clutches from them. everyone i know with a clutch in the last year has no issues, but there was about a 6 month span where i hear everyone having issues. might not be true but its possible

I have been debating on the 3+ or the 5. I had a long talk with Matt at Spec today and I think I'm convinced to go with the 5. This is not going in a car that is a daily driver, basically my vette is for that, but it's not just a track car either.

I broke mine in within 2 gas tanks of just cruisin around the city over a week and a half period. Stopped chattering after about 1000 miles.

I have about 2000 miles on a spec 3+, so far the clutch is absolutely great, and carries much better street manners than my previous Ram 402/sintered iron combination. I run a Fidanza aluminum flywheel...Fidanza makes the spec flywheels.

those pics are bad. My PP has a piece missing on the side of it, causing my tranny not to shift into any gear. If it went in, it was VERY tough, and it grinded every time. Put all the stock **** back in, no problems. Considering an auto swap with a nice stall now.

Are you implying that those pressure plate and disks are Spec? I don't think so.

Imply? No. The one that fragged IS a SPEC, or at least, WAS a SPEC clutch; that can be seen in the top three pictures. The Red one was the RAM 402/6130 combo that replaced it. Much better! The scuffs on the RAM is the paint removed for balancing.

I never recall Spec painted anything other than blue and the disk design doesn't look like Spec.

It is honestly a crap shoot. I have buddies that had great luck, but I blew up a spec 3i with about 7k miles of street driving and only 10-12 runs at the track. All runs at the track with with shitty radials or borrowed bfg's. It wore down to the rivets.

Spec basically told me to shove it after I called them in July (I bought the clutch in February). I still have the f'd up puck which only comes with a 5 month warranty. Ironic huh?
