Borg warner or Tremec
Borg warner or Tremec Ok I thought all the 98-02 cars had tremecs in them, but my buddy states his states borg-warner on the side of his and I know mine state Tremec on the side of mine. I was told that Tremec bought the rights from Borg-warner in 98, so did some cars have borg-warner written on the side and others Tremec?
yes this is ture some do have borg warner on them. I know mine does and it gave me a heart attack when i noticed it. I bought it off a guy who totalled his 98 or 99 camaro because i was doing a a4 to m6 swap on my car. When i got it home and noticed the sticker i thought the guy pulled a fast one on me. But it was the right tranny. I dont know if they had some left over trannies sitting around or just stickers to use up, but some do have borg warner on them.
Tremec did buy the B-W rights and start production in '98. I took awhile to change the label in the die castings. Tremec produced all T56 post'98.

Borg Warner made T56's until 1998, hense, most 1998 F-bodies (which were made in early-mid 1997 and sold in the fall of 1997) will probably have a Borg Warner label.
You'd be better off anyway due to increased quality issues with the Tremec stuff made in Mexico.
