I've never had a problem with my SPEC's on or off the track. Come to think of it, of the 10 people or so I know who run SPEC's I've never heard of any problems aside from the usual slipping when when too much torque was put to a lower stage clutch or the occasional welded clutch to flywheel under extreme race conditons which often is a pretty quick & easy fix. I have delt with them on the phone too and there customer service is excellent. I would not hesitate to give my business to them or to refer people to them based on my and my many friends experience with them.

well when you weigh the options and look at all the different situations its not a safe clutch. i dont give a damn if 1000 people have good luck with it and 5 dont. i dont care if they sell more than others. there is still a chance i can get the bad one or my friends can, i have never personally known anyone that had one blow up but knowing all the people on here that have had trouble is enough for me to know its not safe.

i had a spec 3 that couldnt handle 440ish rwhp, it was toast at 5k miles. my stock one lasted longer than that and held up better. its bs

I emailed Spec. This is what I got. I am a Spec clutch user and I let them know since I use there products.

Clutches don't just explode and we still have seen no trend to this.
Nothing has changed on our end for 6 years. Re-using old bolts, continueing
to drive on them when slipping, and many other things non-clutch related and
cause that. We still do not even have any calls about this occurrence.

yeah that is the guy that fed me a load of crap too. i used all my old bolts for my ls7 swap. i hear people having issue with arp bolts. the bolts we use are torqued and not torque to yeild so there is no need to replace them. good piece of mind but not required. if it was an issue with bolts it would be shearing the bolts off if anything leaving signs of that, not the PP exploding inot pieces. that is just specs way of making it sound like the installer when people that have done this several times, used new parts and are still having the problems.

that is also bull **** because i know people have called up about this before. he was also smart enough to ask what my clutch problem was and then said that isnt cause a bad cluthc if it was the clutch the opposite would happen.

Low pedal would mean there might be something wrong in the clutch- not high pedal.

so from what he is saying is a slipping clutch at 5k miles that has never been launched on or ridden hard is not a clutch problem...so a slipping clutch rules out a clutch problem

Bad thing is that these clutches and most for that matter will start slipping by 5k unless they have the stock like material, soooo damn hard to have a clutch do street and yet hold alot of power. I guess I'm gonna try the textralia and hope for the best. That new centerforce having the sfi approved pressure plate also has me interested.
