Default Changing to aluminum flywheel

Do I need to have flywheel/clutch assembly rebalanced because of the change to the lighter flywheel? Anyone do this without balancing? Results?
I am reusing stock ls1 clutch and pressure plate. Thanks.

I'd love some info too. I'm going to get a ram clutch, and want to know which flywheel to get, billet steel or aluminum. What are the pros/cons of each.

Also, anyone tried RK sports new billet alum flywheel.....looks sexy.

Come on pros, my buddy who is a little more akin to LS1s told me to do lots of research before I buy an aluminum flywheel.

Worked fine in my prelude. Will it be okay in a bolt-on (maybe cam in future) ss?

I cant stand my aluminum flywheel any more. I will more than likely be changing back this winter.

It is noisier, harder to drive 'normally', it is more finicky in general. It also vibrates more (yes, I had the whole assembly balanced before I installed it).

Stay with the steel.

Personally I love my Fidanza aluminum flywheel. Quicker revs, seems to get up and move faster at freeway speeds. Put a Z06 pressure plate and friction disc on it, and had it balanced to .6 grams. Didn't notice anymore noise or vibration that the stock one.
