Can someone explain to me exactly how a transmission blanket works, what's it do/prevent, how it exactly contains a clutch explosion, how it's installed, etc.? Also, what are some good ones, etc.

It won't keep the bellhousing together , but adds another layer of protection between your feet. When a clutch explodes the rpm sends piece through the bellhousing. The blanket tries to contain it.
They are wrapped around the bellhousing and fastened to the heads or block to hold it up
Exotic makes a t56 blanket but I am not sure if it is fully sfi approved
