t56 experts , help me please....... Man , I am having a horrable time getting some info on the problem Im having with my tranny ! for a couple of weeks now , my transmission has a "whine" in gears 1-3 , and only in these gears ! It only does this when I accelerate ! It seems to get a little louder every day . The car shifts fine , no grinding or anything . Some have said don't worry about it , But If it is somthing I can fix before the tranny explodes , I would like to try to fix it ! I had a ton of stangs and I have heard what the tranny sounds like before it goes . I just can't understand why it only whines in gears 1-3 , is there somthing that ties these together??
Any help would be awsome !!!!

Re: t56 experts , help me please....... It sounds like your input shaft bearing... You have direct coupling in 4th so that would explain why no noise there.. Just a thought.. Jason

Re: t56 experts , help me please....... imput shaft bering was a thought I had , But I wasn't sure what it controlled in a t56 ! Is it possable to change it without cracking into the case ? I know on the t-5 you could remove the bering retainer and access it that way ? What would happen if I ingnore it for a little while ?
