Bleeding the Clutch?
I feel like an idiot, a friend and I just installed a SPEC 5 and McLeod scatter shield, and thought it would be a good idea to do the drill mod. DUH??? We fkd with the master for an hour trying to get it primed just won't happen. We fill the master with fluid, and open the quick release connector at the bell housing and the fluid runs freely no bubbles. Then we try pumping the pedal and releasing etc, nothing works, I don't know what to do. Talk about feeling stupid.
fill the master with fluid. Then pump the clutch pedal by hand 15 to 20 times. On the last pump hold the pedal down. With the pedal down now crack the bleeder valve for about 5 seconds (you should hear the air escaping from the bleeder followed by fluid when you crack it open) located about 2 inch's above the slave disconnect then close it. . Now pull the clutch pedal back up and pump the pedal again about 20 times and repeat the process untill you start to get pressure on the clutch pedal when are pumping it. BTW also keep an eye clutch fluid resevoir (keep filling as you continue to bleed) to make sure it doesnt go empty or youll have to start all over again.
Thanks for the input but we have tried that method at least 6 or 7 times, The pedal just won't build any pressure. I think I'm going to have to do a little afro engineering with one of those pressure bottles.
