I recently purchased a Mcleod Adjust. Master.. When i began trying to bleed the master it became clear that I had a faulty master. I tried bench bleeding the unit as directed with no luck. I installed it in the car and attempted to bleed the system that way. With absolutely no pressure building in the unit, and not one drop or hiss of air out of the bleeder I pulled it out of the car and put it on the bench. It was then i realized that as I pumped the master, the fluid level in the resevor would rise! Who else has had problems bleeding these units. I have read numerous posts in the past of people having problems, but anything like this. I sent my unit to CNC who actually makes the unit. They stated the culprit was a bad valve.

I believe that it is a part that can be fixed or replaced. At least that was my impression. I hope this Mcleod master is worth the price of admission, the bill has approached 250 after shipping to CA from MN. Not to mention the several hours wasted in the garage putting in and taking out a bum part. Chuck at CNC stated that he has never seen this problem before but I have a hard time believing that. Anybody else had a Mcleod master go bad or be faulty from the factory?

Mine will lose pressure after a hard run, I mean it loses pressure until were it engages (sp) about half way down and then comes back after a few min. Is this the same problem you guys are having???

Mike, about how long have you had the master in the car, how many miles too? To me your problem sounds like a pressure issue. Try bleeding the unit again, you may still have air in the line.

I had the exact same problem a month ago. I got a faulty master cylinder too....couldn't be bled. No fluid was moving.
I returned it to CNC also and got a replacement which works beautifully.

Mine sits on the bench. Same problem. No matter what we did, bench bleed etc, no pressure. I call down to McCleod and talked to one of their experts. He really didn't have an answer, other than to try again. He said they would back the product and replace if need be. I have been running with the stock master without any problems so far.
Haven't had the time to return it or try to re-bleed. I have got to get it replaced thought, doubt it will bleed up

Three of us around here have the McLeod adjustable MC including me. I did the installation on all of them. I have a McLeod clutch, one guy has a Ram clutch and one has the factory clutch. The McLeod adjustable MC has worked flawlessly in all three cars for well over a year now. Very good piece. Nothing is 100% perfect all the time. Just send the unit back and get another. Sure it's a PITA but hey....stuff happens man...

well, I just got my REBUILT master from CNC. This unit was bench bled in about 10 pumps, I kid you not! I put it in the car and bled it again. I had great pedal pressure right away. It is pretty cool being able to adjust engagement points! My advice to those who cant get it to bleed is to return it and get another, the unit is faulty! Thanks for your imput

My master crapped on me too the fluid was leaking through the boot. Called Corina up at CNC at 1 619 275 1663, i guess they're rebuilding mine and sending it back out. Only weird thing is my car still has peddle pressure just wouldn't engage or disengage the clutch..
