guideplate/shift selector
The guide plate limits and directs the rail. The interlock (on the rail) prevents 2 gears to be selected at once. The shifter only "complies "with what the guide plate ain interlock control. This is why it is foolish to add& use stops on a shifter.If the stops are adjusted correctly, they do nothing. If the stops are incorrectly adjusted, the interfere with the healthy function of the linkage.

Thanks for getting back so quickly. So it sounds like the interlock prevents 2 gears being engaged at once and the guideplate is what forces the shift rail to move otherwise. What does the shift selector assembly do? And it slides under the interlock? I guess there're 4 questions tied up in that paragraph when you get a chance. Thanks again buddies.
