Default slp shift **** removal

I just got my short stick in and I want to put it on during my lunch break but I can not get my slp shift **** off. I have twisted that thing with all my might and can not get it to budge. Is there a trick to this or is there a set screw I need to remove.

No trick... no set screw.... twist harder. Might have to try a strap wrench if it is that bad.

There is a loctite patch at the **** from the factory( if you have an orig install) Use a belt-type wrench and keep at it. It may help to take the handle loose at the shifter and take the assembly out of the car. Take this to a vise for dis-assembly.
