Default T56

I seen somewhere that GM makes a spacer to fit a 6speed trans to the LS1 engine. I am assuming an older one. Does anyone know if the transmission from a 1994 camaro will go on a LS1 using this to compensate for the shorter shaft I am assuming and all the LT1 clutch setup work or do I really have to change the bellhousing adapter plate and input shaft. If anyone has the Ls1 installation guide from GM it talks about it in there.

lt1 and ls1 trannies dont interchange

LSx use a normal style pressure plate and clutch/flywheel assembly they also use an intern inputshaft mounted slave cylinder, the input shaft in the tranny is longer to compensate for the inset crank design of the LSx motor platfrom

LTx motors use a reverse pull pressure plate a 153 tooth flywheel, they use external slave cylinder/clutch fork style hydraulics to disengage the PP
