CLUTCH QUESTION I have a spec stage 3 kevlar. When I had the clutch put in I did not have the hydraulics changed. Here is the question I just recently bought a pair of nittos and when I went to do a burnout the clutch went up in smoke. The problem is that the clutch only feels like it is slipping in first gear but the funny thing is that I can lauch the car at 2700 rpms at no problem and I tried shifting it hard and putting it in 6th gear to see if it was slipping and it is not. So I am wondering if it is just the hydraulics on the car b/c I know that there were upgrades for the 98-00 models. Has anyone had this particular problem and do you think this will fix the problem I am having.

Re: CLUTCH QUESTION I tried the drill out mod and its worked good for me ever since. It allows the hydraulics to engage the clutch quicker without letting it slip gradually like the stock hydraulics do. I dont remember exactly how to do it but it should be on the internet somewhere.

pull the master. remove the rollpin holding the line in the master. use 1/8" (I think) drill bit and remove the restriction inside the hose.

Re: CLUTCH QUESTION if its holding now then its fine, i wouldnt know why it would slip so bad during a burnout and not repeat the problem ever again. i'd check the slave maybe its not releasing at high rpm's.. after the drill out mod.
