shifter bobs up and down

When I'm driving around and i go over a rough spot or uneven surface I see that my shifter goes bobs up and down, not too much but enough to get me pissed sometimes. Is this normal or do I need to check out my tranny mounts or anything under the car?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

That's normal, to a certain extent. You can check your tranny mount, but I'm sure it's just normal travel.

You have a 98. I replaced mine with a poly one, it was a piece of cake. When I took out the stocker, it was practically torn in half.

Solved the problem.
