Default Time to pitch the M6

I am looking to pitch the M6....after 12500 miles and more strip passes than can be counted, I have decided to retire it before it blows. Most people are scratching thier heads on how long it has lasted. Here is what I need to know:
1.)will any TH400 work for the LS1?
2.)who makes a good tranny mount for the retro?
3.)I think some of the namebrand converters and transmissions are good cause to scream rape. You can get a good TH400 with a big converter for under $1000 locally. I am getting ready to pull the motor, and the upgrades will kill the M6. Any help would be appreciated!

WELL.. and to think that I am converting to a M6.. I am sooooo tired of TM,Revlimiter and letting the computer control when my car shifts.. I WILL HAVE NONE OF THAT>> sorry just venting.

But as far as your questions.. I have no idea..

One thing I would spend the money on is the converter
I would consider the Yank PYE 4100 if you are going to spray.
But as for the tranny, if you have a reputable builder in your area build a good TH400 go for it
Cheers,
Chris

Hey wait a minute....he is converting to an M6, and I am converting to an automatic....hmmmmm, I know I could get a hardcore rebuild on an A4 (had one on my blown 94Z) See where I am going with this. Sounds like a swap in the making....

I went from M6 to A3...I got a TH400 with a "5000" stall, and I'm going to lower it to like a 3800 soon so I can spray it... I got the BMR Cross Member...it just came out...you can build it up cheap or get everything working...I got the speedo working, and all the other stuff like reverse lights, etc...Speed Inc. did a damn good job on it...

Thanks for the suggestions! So far I have tracked down a TH400 from a local speedshop that is good for street/strip use with a shiftkit and a 3800 stall for $1200 with a 12 month 12000 mile warranty. Need a few more things:
M6 to TH400 Conversion kit, flywheel, radiator with auto tranny cooler inputs. New brake pedal and assembly. What the heck else do I need? This thing has turned into expensive pain in the @ss. Why oh why did I check the box for an M6 when I ordered this thing!

You don't need a new radiator, I left my 6-speed pedals in, the master cylinder is still in the car as well...
