Default Which clutch?

'98 Z stock cubes with hand-ported "stage 2" heads, 224/229 .641/.646" 110* LSA cam, LS6 or Fast 90 (depends which I end up going with), Pacesetter LTs/TSP ORY, Magnaflow cat-back, MTI lid, ported TB.

Rear gears are 3.42 as stock, but will probably be switching to either a 3.73 or 4.10 12-bolt in a few weeks/months. Tires will be drag radials as of now.

I may or may not install my bottle on this car, haven't decided yet. If I run anything it will be a 100-150 shot and isn't something I would use often.

Which clutch would you run with this setup? I'm looking at Spec Stage 2 and 3 setups, not sure what else to look into.

wrong section

some people have issues with spec clutches... not bashing them, but if you can't afford to take out and reinstall a different clutch if the spec fails... i'd look into some else.

First off where did you find a cam with those wild *** specs?? Race only I assume.....Try the Exedy twin plate or triple plate if you want to put somethng that can take the abuse. I launch hard and kill my twin plate and so for its flawless.

Hmmm, I wasn't sure where to put this. Didn't think engine exterior would be appropriate, but I was in a rush before I left this morning. If it needs to be moved, feel free mods.

Cam is a custom grind from TR on LSK lobes. Its a copy of Patrick G's new cam, but mine spec'd out with slightly more lift and another 1/2 degree on the exhaust.

Think I might go with a Spec Stage 3 from what I've been reading. Stage 2 should handle the motor setup, but it'll probably slip with spray.

Ok, I'll be blunt. SPEC clutches are junk IMO....They don't seem to hold up to well to higher powered LSx engines. I am telling you to spend a little extra money now, rather then a lot later. With all that power you might as well upgrade to a carbon fiber driveshaft and replace your worst condition coupler and use the G2 coupler. Much more durable. There is so much work and money involved in LSx clutch jobs you really need to do everything while its torn apart. JMHO

I have the Spec 3 and billet flywheel in my car and love it.

It's my DD and has been working awesome for about 14k miles. I'd go ahead and replace the master cylinder, do the drill mod, get an updated slave with new throwout, and a new pilot bearing.

SDPC has great prices on the slave/master.

Moving to right section.....
