Default what would cause.....

the pin that holds the braided hose onto the clutch master cylinder to fall out? I was on my way home yesterday and I depress the clutch to shift to 3rd and it goes to the floor.....no pressure at all. I pumped it but nothing. Since I was close to my place and I could not hear any alarming noises, I drove on 4th gear until I got home. Looked under the hood and the hose had popped out the master cylinder and spilled fluid out.

I have replaced the pin with one I had from an older cylinder.

My question is why would this happen and has anybody else experieced this? I doubt it could have been that loose

It probably wasn't put on all the way the first time. My best guess.

Yeah it doesnt seem as if it could fall out on its own or rattle out from vibrations. Its in there pretty good.

If you did the drill mod to your car and didnt expand the roll pin, yes it could easily fall out. When you install the pin expand it a bit and put some crazy glue or a dab of epoxy on either side. Oh and if you didnt do the drill mod nows the time to do it.

I never expanded my pin when I did that, just put it back in there. No problems for me. I must be lucky I guess.

" expanding the pin" sounds really hack. If its that crimped it would be obviously loose and why would you not replace it? How would one crimp a pin that much? Ild say they lost the orig pin and put some hack piece in that didn't fit or stay( in the same league as expanding a pin).
