Clutch install question.

Question Clutch install question.

ok now that i got a daily im debating on doin my clutch and slave replacement myself. ive read the step by step on install univeristy so i know basically how to do it. ive never done a clutch before or a slave so this is gonna be a new expieriance for me but i have done motor swaps with autos so im sure i can figure this out. my questions are, im goin to go with the ls7/ls2 combo. now i seen that with the mcloed they give u shims and u must play with it and get the proper shim in there. do the ls7/ls2 combo require a new size shim to be used and figured out for proper engagment or is that a mcloed thing only. if so is there a standard people have figured out for the ls7, and my last question is my slave is the basic problem on my car i believe, i have an 01 but is there a better than stock slave to get. thats about it for now

You don't need any shims for the LS7 clutch/LS2 Flywheel combo.

i don't believe there is a better than stock slave that you can install, getting a new one should be fine. it may help your hydrolics if you do the "drill mod" on your clutch master cylinder.

if your clutch and flywheel are brand new you shouldn't need a shim.

No shims on the ls2 clutch. The luk pressure plate has a mechanism that auto adjusts for clutch wear. Thats why the pedal starts out low but then engages higher after the first few miles.

ok sounds good, i am plannin the dril mod definatly, my problem now is my pedal sticks to the floor at 3rd and 4th when i run it hard
