What is wrong with my clutch?
Before one of my runs during the second time at the track, I tried to heat up my tires a little. when I put the clutch back in, took it out of gear, and then hit the brakes, my RPMs came down ofcourse but it stayed at 2000RPMs for about 3 seconds then went down .
Just yesterday while it was raining I tried to spin my tires a little. It did the same thing. It felt like my tires spun but then when I took it out of gear it hung at 2000RPMs again for about 3 secs and then went down.
You guys know when your car starts moving by itself when you have the clutch pedal at a certain point right? It feels like that point is now higher off the ground then before. What condition do you think its in? Toast?

Stock clutches suck ***. I fried my stock clutch when my car was only 3 days old while out street racing. LOL!

What do you mean by "took it out of gear"? Do you mean you put it in neutral and the rpms stayed up? Or do you mean you shifted into the next gear and the clutch slipped and then dropped to a lower rpm after a few seconds?

Oh, and I'm on 16 drag radials, not on my 19s .

1. Check to see if your throttle body sticks open.
2. Check for any air leaks behind the throttle body. Check your bellows, intake, etc.
3. If you have a 98-99 car, check to see if your EGR O-ring has moved, forming a leak in the intake.
