?'s before ordering RAM clutch
1) i have a 2001, so will i need to replace the slave?
2) I have searched, and found many people using the stock flywheel with a 402 PP. which is better to do, counterbore the stock flywheel or just drill out the PP bolt holes and use the stock bolts? Also how long are the stock flywheels holding up for most people?
3) Is there a preferrable adj. master to get (mcloed's modified or just a modified GM)?

1- Depending on the mileage of your slave, it may be a good idea to go ahead and replace it while you have everything apart. Keep in mind that if your stock slave does go bad, you'll have to pull everything back apart to replace. Just something to ponder..
2- You will be fine using the stock flywheel. I myself used the stock flywheel, and so have several others will great results. There are 3 holes on the PP that have to be SLIGHTY drilled out, but that takes all of about 5 minutes. Just make sure you have the flywheel turned, and you're good to go.
3- If you are on a budget, a modified stocker will work just fine. However the McCleod unit is VERY nice, and some believe it to work better than the others. I myself prefer a stock modified unit, works fine...
Good luck....

Damian-Does the McLeod master need to have the drill mod done to it?
I think im just gonna go ahead and replace the slave, might as well since ill be in there anyways. As far as the flywheel goes, im leanin toward using my stock one and just resurfacing it. Also from what i searched, it seems that just drilling out the PP holes works just fine, and hasnt shown any side effects instead of counterboring the flywheel holes

About the drill out mod, it is on the line, not the master. The thing that you drill out is about an inch or less inside the braded line on the master side.
I have the RAM flywheel, however many are running the origional with no problems!
