Yeah!!! It's called elbow grease... Those things get stock on there REALLY good.... Just get a big flat head screwdriver and wedge it in about every 4 inches...It's going to be a little tough but the more that you work at it the easier it'll be...

Man, just pull & wiggle. Also tap a flathead screwdriver in around a few different spots. Be careful not to break or crack the housing.

Pry bar works great. Just don't place it up against the starter.

That is ignorant. You should be taking the transmission off the bellhousing before you try and get it loose. Your guide pins are gonna make it tough enough as it is. Just take the transmission off the bellhousing. Dont yank on your shifter cup. What do you do when it finally comes loose? Let it fall on the floor? or tilt off the jack? You are not going to be able to hang onto it if it accidentally "pops" out.

WD-40 in the gap near the alignment pins (3 o'clock and 9 o'clock) worked wonders for me.

Just pry it out, like everyone said. Make sure the screw driver/prybar isnt behind the flywheel, or youll be in for ALOT more work then you have to. There are 2 large dowel pins, one on either side (driver and passenger) and they hold like a bitch. I used some anti-sieze on mine, when i replaced the tranny, and ill be pulling it again soon, so ill know if it worked or not.

Haha I just went through this 2 days ago. Beating on it with a rubber mallet works to get it started, then pry and pray.

Pry... with EXTREME caution. I'd rather use just a rubber hammer and lube the pins. That housing is just cast aluminum, and you don't want to break pieces off.

Hint: putting it back on, polish the guide pins with emory cloth or a 3M pad, and wipe with antisieze. Makes next time a LOT easier.

The more you do it the easier it gets.

First time was a major pain in the ***.
Second time, went a little faster.
Third time was a breeze.
Fourth time I dont think I ever opened my eyes.
