Safety interlock on trans mount?

Default Safety interlock on trans mount?

Saw a prothane mount that has this? What exactly does this do? Is it if the mount breaks, it locks together somehow???

Interlocking metal inside the mount, a safety feature if the poly cracks, so your tranny does not go flopping around. The ES mount has this as well, check out the diagram on their site:
