how much movement in the shifter is normal?

Default how much movement in the shifter is normal?

i was wondering when i get on it in first and second my shifter moves to the side about a half inch or so?? is this normal.. it bothers me for some reason enough for me to change my tranny mount to poly... while i was doing that i found the broken torque arm bushing so i replaced it...i just had my motor mounts replaced so i doubt this is the prob...is this normal ??.....is there anything at all in the rear end that could keep breaking mounts?? i have gone through a few both motor and trans....i dont run slicks and i have not been getting on it hardly at all somthing just doesnt feel right with it any help would be great?

Sounds normal to me. That totque arm bush could have been a big contributor.

Mine does the same thing, i keep meaning to look to see if my mounts are ok. some movement is normal though

Also is there anything else in the rear suspension or rear axle that could contribute to this movement.....???

No I'm pretty sure its all between the tranny mount and torque arm bushing. Ive got energy suspension on mine and it still moves maybe 1/4 to 1/2 an inch when you hit the throttle.

you need a poly mount. energy supension at autozone for like $20 mine used to love a **** load and bounce like a titty dancer at idle

Whats wrong with the energy suspension? Just curious...whats the difference between that and a poly mount?

nothing is wrong with energy suspension. they are made out of polyurathane hence "poly"

So what bushing do we need?

And yes, that was slightly off topic, but I love my Corsa exhaust, its nice and quiet cruising around and sounds nice and mean when i get on it. I'll let ya know how it is once i get headers put on.
