Transmission Vibration Please help !!!!! I have a 97 Firebird Formula w/a six speed , I just had a Zoom Clutch Kit installed. I left the mechanic and noticed a violent vibration in first gear and reverse, and all the rest of my gears vibrate a bit. It almost sound like it's going to stall. The mechanic told me it's because it's an aggressive clutch, but i do not believe him because it seems to be getting worse. ****CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME SOLVE THIS PROBLEM !!!!****
Have them make sure they got the flywheel on right and the bolts torqued correctley. Sounds like that may be what it is. Or if there was weights on the flywheel it may have lost one but i doubt it. Sounds like a bad install to me. Isn't the Zoom Clutch a Napa kit? just checking because i priced one and he said it was like $275! I HIGHLY doubt it's because it's aggressive. The guy seems like he know's he fucked up and doesn't want to fix it on his time. Take it back and do some bitchin'. I'd be pissed if i payed a shop and it came back messed up. They would be hearing my $.02. I hope i helped but i really sounds like the thing's he replaced are outta balance. Tell the shop that replaced it that you took it to a dealer and they said it was a bad install. Make him fix it. It's his fault!~Cole~
If it's not loose flywheel or pressure plate bolts then it sounds like a balance issue. LS1s are internally balanced and require the pressure plate and flywheel to be neutral balanced as an assembly. LT1s are externally balanced and the have to use the correct flywheel, with a neutral balanced pressure plate.
