Default Bleeding clutch in car...

Is it possible and who has done it. I need to bleed the Hydrualic clutch system in the car with no mods to the tranny tunnel or the tranny case.

Is it possible and how have you done it?

I use a MitiVac. Sears has 'em for about $30. I've also done from under the car - only problem with that is you need two people. Lot's of threads on here with the details on both methods.

as someone who took the plunge and drilled into the tunnel, i think thats the way to go. 5 minutes of drilling took all the PITAedness out of bleeding the clutch the right way.

Easy.. you need an 11mm 1/4 drive

open the valve.. have some one pump the clutch and hold.. when he holds, then close the valve.. have him lift, open the valve.. clutch pedel to the floor again.. hold, close valve..

repeat until no air bubbles and a semi steady stream comes out. I bled mine this way and its perfect.. I didnt have to bang or dill any part of my car to do it

GoblinM6 has it almost correct. You bleed the clutch, just like you would the brakes. You just pump the clutch pedal a few times, when it is on the floor, have someone crack open the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder. When the fluid is just about done coming out, you close the bleeder valve. Make sure the clutch master cylinder is full of fluid, and start the process over again.

You can't open the bleeder valve and then pump the pedal. You will only add more air to the system.

Actually goblin m6 does it the way I did it except for pumping with the bleeder open.I would open the bleeder and have a buddy push the pedle to the floor and then I would close bleeder before buddy let up on pedle. But to answer the original question yes you can bleed the slave from under the car,I used a short socket on a 1/4 inch ratchet with no drilling and no problem.
