Default grind 3rd and 4th, WTF!

I just bought a new t56 last february and recently lost 4th gear last week, proceded by 3rd getting ate today. Figures that I had 13,000 miles on the tranny on a 12,000 mile/12 month warrenty when it went. Lucky me. Both of the gears still work fine when driving, no noise or vibration. But grind like there's no tommorrow going into gear. If the car is in 4th gear and I come to a complete stop, it gets stuck and refuses to get out of gear. This I assume means a new 3/4 shift fork is in order along with new synchros atleast for 3rd and 4th. Does anyone think that this problem could have grenaded anything else in the t56. I'm not going to open it myself, want to ,but I have a feeling I would end up having to buy another one if I did and don't feel like buying another one. Thanks guys.
If there's anyone in the Northeast corner of North Carolina, don't go to J.R.Transmissions. They are complete scam-artists.

Sounds like you broke slider keys in the 3/4 syncro.
It happens w/ hard driving common.
Need to have the trans disassembled & inspected & see if anything else is torn up. Then do some upgrades while your in there.
Like billet keys, bronze shift fork pads etc.

Definanatly sounds like broken slider keys and a worn 3/4 slider assembly. Sorry for the bad luck. Hope you get it fixed.

I have the exact same thing with mine. How much for a new 3/4 slider and keys?

I've found the 3-4 slider for $60 and rebuild kit for just about $200.

The slider is $115 if you buy it from a reputable shop and the keys are $75 per set. If you are getting a slider for $60 it will have to be used. Cost on them is more than that.

Thanks,
Amber
