Default Hot wire CAGS?

If I was able to energize the skip shift solenoid(CAGS) while in third gear,do you think this would serve to lock out second on a 3rd to 4th shift,or impede the shift out of third?Anyone know the internal workings of the M6 well enough to hazard a guess? Just thinking(usually gets me into trouble).

It seems like you are trying to add one more component that could fail on you. Just practice shifting a little more, and don't worry about it. Seriously, the t56 is a really good shifting transmission. I don't understand what the isuue is?

I've read numerous threads about people hitting second instead of forth,I've done it myself,and it can cause a lot of damage.We have a positive lock out for reverse,why not forth?We even have a solenoid built in to lock out 2nd and3rd at times,why not 4th? Just curious.....I might wire up a switch in the spring....see what happens.

This was done many moons ago and I think Harlan was trying to make an automagic setup that used the TPS signal instead of a switch....


Not sure if he ever got his setup to work though

Oh,yeah you weren't trying to be funny!Somebody already tried this,but you're right he didn't say it worked.Thanks for the link.I wouldn't of used a resistor as there is none in original wiring diagram,so the solenoid is 12 volts.I'll save this for better weather and a slow weekend!Thanks
