Default LS7 clutch

Installed a LS7 clutch. Dynoed 415 rwhp 408 tq.
2000 mi. on it. Went to the track chirped all gears on first pass. Degraded every pass after that.
The clutch still holds on the street unless I try power shifting into 2nd gear. then the clutch goes away.

What is my next best choice for a clutch?

Sounds more like you are having air problems in the clutch system. Give it a good blead and see what it does. 415 rwhp shouldnt be to much unless you really abused it at the track with a 6000 rpm clutch dump, or slipped it and glazed it over.

To me, it sounds about right. Even in the ZO6 it was designed for, people complained about them degrading after some hot lapping.

I've been happy with my RPS clutch, but there are a lot of people that aren't. I'd say you should go with the Textralia...tried and true, and should hold your abuse with no problems. Yeah, it isn't cheap, but then again, you are replacing an LS7 you installed not too long ago...

Yes true. Man I love you textrallia guys. I am not going to start an argument here but alot of people dont have a grand, to drop on a clutch. But if you do, the textrallia will exceed any clutch on the market. But my thoughts are if you are not pushing the envelope on power the LS7 will be a wonderful clutch.

I just installed my clutch and im around the 39x rwhp mark, if I do have Problems with it, I will put in a tex.

Stock clutches and hot lapping don't mix.

I took my LS7 for about 4 runs total one HOT night, with probably a 5-10m cool down between each run. Chirped 3rd every pass on MTs, and didn't have any problems. Still runs great to this day. Maybe something wrong with yours?

Stock gears and trim. Probably 3400lbs. or so.
Ill check it out when I install the textralia. Im not messing around any more with clutches.
Im gonna put a rearend in it this winter anyways.
Then I can get some slicks and drop the hammer on it! See what it will really run.

I dosen't feel consistant. Some times it grabs and some times it dont. I have to make a good solid shift and no slipping the clutch.

I think im gonna try bleeding it this weekend and see if that helps.

I am running some big nittos so it dose hook up good.

The other nite I was runnin 55mph 2500 rpm 4th gear , downshifted into 3rd and lit the tires for a good 30 ft. Tried it tonite and the clutch went away.

I think I am hard on a clutch, so I hope the Tex holds up.

Seems like people have the same issue with this clutch as they do with the RPS...they just don't like to be launched very hard (at least with any consistency). Hopefully the 4.11s I have now will fix this problem before it starts by making it easier for the motor to get the car moving...

I still think it must just be some people. I accidently (yeah my first time driving a M6 at the track ) dumped the clutch at about 3500 RPM with 4.11s and near 400hp. The car didn't like it, but the clutch held up strong.
